"True Empowerment is found in ones ability to embrace vulnerability, transparency, accountability and ultimately availability. It is in these, that true empowerment is fostered and therefore elevation is inevitable."

I am grateful to Vinise Capers for writing such a book. Too often black women are labeled as angry bitter and down right hateful. This book gives a voice to the black woman that I haven't heard for ages. This book allows not just black women but all women take a moment of time to just reflect, however, if you are a black woman; the book allows you the moment to reflect, release and learn, how to articulate the things you'd like to say, so that your words can be heard. This book, is not one that you read through in two days, you will need a pen and some time. I love how the author gives you permission in this book, to not only listen to her journey of processing and reflection, but she gives you permission to take your own personal one as well. I recommend this book to every woman that would dare to reflect and allow themselves to be awakened.

As a woman I can appreciate the tone of this read. It is a great book for groups of all sizes who desire to learn, teach and empower one another. Although it was simple to read, it was provoking in the sense that it urged refection, conversation and direction. Thank you taking the time to be vulnerable before the massess

I loved this I found it to be very inspiring!

Coming out of the Darkness is a book for healing, inspiration and triumph. I have read this book from cover to cover and I tell you, I wasn't able to put it down. I was drawn in by the Author's story. The moment I finished the book, I took it to a young lady that I knew, she read it and told me how much she needed it in that time. I recommend this book to anyone that may be struggling and can't see an end in sight. This book is an example of victory after what seemed like a sure defeat! Pick up the book, your spirit, heart and soul will thank you for it.

I really feel this book is very important, for parents with young children. Mrs. Capers, gives such a detailed account about her experiences, that I found myself, putting the book down and shedding tears. It was so clear on views, I wondered if I could finish the book. Not because it wasn't good, but because it drew so many emotions that, I was afraid to feel further. I finished it, and cried some more. Parents need to read and know what things to look for in their children and what questions, to ask. I loved the book. It shows her true strength as a person. I was blessed to attend two of her women conferences, she's a public speaker as well, and I had such a good time. People were touched, the whole room was attentive and people were being blessed. People were releasing pain they held on to for so long. I personally, look forward to more work from this author and hope to be able to enjoy another conference, soon.   You can edit text on your website by double clicking on a text box on your website.
